We need a volunteer!

Currenty Lisa Atkins is serving as the Newsletter Editor and Research Assistant. You must be a member in good standing with the Higdon Family Association, be interested in genealogy, and use electronic mail to be the Research Assistant. This person will answer questions about Higdon family genealogy that are submitted through our web site. Contact the Higdon Family Association if you are interested in volunteering.

Lisa Atkins

Lisa is the daughter of John and Bonnie Higdon Atkins and the granddaughter of the late Leonard (1910-1990) and late Nettie Higdon. She is a third generation graduate of the University of Tennessee where she received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. Lisa is a consulting engineer in the nuclear power and chemical production industries. Additionally, through her secondary businesses she provides statistical & trending anaylsis and historical & biographical research consulting. She is also a freelance photographer.

For 2001 Lisa celebrated thirty years as a genealogical researcher. She has been a longtime member of the HFA beginning with her associate membership in the 1970s as a teenager. Lisa recently published her first genealogical book and she is hard at work on her second. She is currently the publisher & editor of another genealogical newsletter.

Your request will be one of many that she receives, so please be patient. The Higdon Family Association does not pay Lisa or any other person for the work that they do. We just do our best as the time and situation permit!
