David Grayson Higdon, age 90, of Higdonville Community, Franklin, North Carolina, passed away Friday, May 18, 2007. He was a native of Macon County, North Carolina, the son of the late Thomas Bragg and Lula Shepherd Higdon. Grayson was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. He was a carpenter and a member of Higdonville Baptist Church where he served as secretary-treasurer for 30 years. He was a member of the VFW Post #7339. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dorothy Louise Talley Higdon; two step-daughters:
Linda Gay Dryman, and Hilda Jane Nelson. He was preceded in death by five brothers: Paul, Ted, T.B., Lefert, and Sam Higdon.
The funeral services were held Sunday, May 20, at the Higdonville Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Hawkins and Rev. Mack Hutson officiating. Burial was at the Church Cemetery. He was honored by pallbearers: Steve Higdon, Marshall Higdon, Denver Higdon, Denton Higdon, Ronnie Higdon and Milton Higdon. The VFW Post #7339 and American Legion Post #108 conducted complete military graveside rites. |

Grayson was the last surviving child of
Thomas Bragg Higdon and his wife Lula Shepherd

the William Huffman Higdon reunions; he was
the last surviving grandson of William Huffman Higdon and Jane Buchanan Higdon.
