President Sally Swain is to be congratulated for the terrific meeting of the Higdon Family Association in August of 2006. HFA Secretary Paul Brown's snapshot of sunrise shows the grandeur of nature that awaited us each morning during the reunion.
Many members commented that "The Ridges" lodge on Lake Chatuge in north Georgia was one of the loveliest locations ever for the annual meeting. Each morning, we were treated to a continental breakfast on the patio overlooking this view of the lake and surrounding mountains. |
Despite being busy keeping the meetings on schedule, Sally Swain took time
for her granddaughter Rachel.

These ladies are descendants of William Thomas "Bill" Higdon, who was born May 13, 1867, in Fannin County, Georgia. He married Mary Elmira "Doll" Arp, daughter of Benjamin and Amanda Dickey Arp, on September 24, 1893. William Thomas Higdon and Mary Arp Higdon are buried at Mt. Moriah Baptist Cemetery in Fannin County, Georgia.
