Nancy A. Higdon

Nancy Lawson married Charles P. Higdon in 1978. She is the daughter of Lela and Herbert Franklin Lawson. Herbert served as a medic during World War II. He worked as a steamfitter on dams and power plants throughout the south and on the assembly buildings and missile launchpads at Cape Canaveral, Florida. Nancy's mother worked for Carolyn Chenille and as a devoted housewife.

While working full time, Nancy graduated with highest honors from both Roane State Community College and the University of Tennessee. She worked in the sporting goods industry for ten years, then for Lockheed Martin in Oak Ridge, Tennessee for 21 years as a computing analyst and as the computing documentation manager. She now assists Charles in his construction business.

Nancy did double duty during her time as the Newsletter Editor as she also updated the web site each month. She was the first Technologist for the HFA and served from May 2001 through October 2007.
