Janice J. HigdonJanice Jean Higdon is a computer applications teacher in San Antonio, TX. She teaches computing in the public schools during the day and at the University of Texas at San Antonio (Downtown Campus) 2 nights a week. Janice has taught school for 20 plus years in San Antonio and New York City. She has taught such diverse subjects as, Biology, History (American and Texas), Spanish, Stagecraft and Lighting Design, as well as computer applications. Janice has been named Teacher of the Year at 4 different schools and has had the privilege of working with a wide variety of students and teachers. She is the daughter of Jean and W. Dain Higdon. And it was through them that she became a member of the Higdon Family Association. Following the death of her father, she and her mother live together. In her first year in New York she flew back to San Antonio to serve as a tour guide for the Higdon Annual Meeting held in October, 1985. She served as a tour guide at the 1998 meeting also. It was the 1998 Annual meeting that saw a vacancy in the newsletter post, with a dearth of editors lining up. Janice volunteered to try to produce a newsletter six times a year. Janice was applauded for her efforts at the 2002 HFA meeting in Chattanooga, Tennessee. |
